Position Description

We are seeking two new Board members who are:
• Passionate individuals with expertise in some of the following areas: legal services, marketing and commercialising new service offerings, technology and people and culture
• Deliver value that makes an impact in the community
• Expertise in the social service / Not for Profit sector

Due to the expiring tenure of 2 of our Directors we are inviting applications from people to join our skilled-based Board.

You'll collectively as part of the Board contribute to the following responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and set the strategic direction and priorities for the organisation
• Monitor the organisation’s performance and ensure compliance with the relevant legal obligations
• Ensure the organisation has adequate resources for any proposed undertaking
• Engage a competent Chief Executive Officer and enter a professional agreement which provides regular performance appraisal
• Establish and monitor delegations of authority for the Chief Executive Officer and management

In addition, participation in at least one Board committee will also be required. Board committees include the Governance, Remuneration and Nomination Committee (GRNC) and the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee (FARC).

• Board appointments are for an initial 3-year term with the option to re-stand for election for a further 2 terms

Selection Criteria

We are looking for experienced individuals known for their career success at Board or senior management levels in the social services sector in an organisation of similar size or larger than RANSW. You'll be enthused by the important work we do and bring to the Board your understanding of the machinery of government, policy making and not-for-profit funding processes together with your knowledge of NFP funding processes including access to informal and formal networks that will assist RANSW in its advocacy and impact.

Skills and expertise in one or more of the following areas is also sought:

• marketing; growth/business development/ commercialising products; people and culture within a strong diverse and intersectional lens
• risk management and technology;
• legal

In addition to the above, you'll enhance the diversity of our Board, in line with the diversity of the people and communities we support.
