Melba Support Services is a company limited by guarantee and seeks expressions of interest from experienced board directors who are motivated by supporting and empowering people with a disability to live the life they want.

The Board comprises six directors, including the Chair and there is the opportunity to participate on sub-committees for Finance, Audit and Risk Management (FARM), Practice, Quality and Safeguards (PQS) and Employee Experience (EE). Following a successful period of recent rapid expansion, the Board will oversee a continued transformation and growth trajectory, supporting the Chief Executive Officer and executive team to deliver on the organisational strategy in alignment with the organisation’s vision, purpose and aspirations.

Directors are remunerated and may also claim reimbursement of reasonable expenses.

Selection Criteria

The ideal candidates will demonstrate existing governance experience and understanding, preferably in a disability or other adjunct not-for-profit market such as aged care. Previous Board experience and exposure to a service delivery and customer-oriented environment will also be essential.

Expertise in areas including disability practice quality, business transformation, finance, risk and compliance, commercial, legal, human resources, cyber security, philanthropy, business growth, or complex stakeholder engagement is sought to ensure a complementary range of skills across the Board.
